This is a chance to spend a delightful day outside of Rome in Umbria, one of Italy’s most picturesque regions, rich in vineyards, olive trees and famous hill-top villages across the valley.
The coach route is dotted with charming medieval towns such as Spoleto, Trevi, Foligno, Spello and the most famous of all- Assisi. This mystic city of Saint Francis, still surrounded by ancient walls, is built on the green slopes of Mount Sabasio. With its colorful houses of pink stone, narrow streets, flower-decked balconies and noble palaces. A camera in Assisi is a must.

You will visit the Basilica of St. Francis with its famous early-Renaissance frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue and its Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, also getting the chance to shop in the little stores and artisans’ shops in the old town and have a lovely lunch in a restaurant with a typical Umbrian menu.

In the afternoon, depart for the picturesque medieval town of Orvieto, known for its beautiful Cathedral. Our tour will end at the hotel in Rome, at approximately 8:00pm- traffic permitting.

Enjoy a full-day, guided tour in English and French. The green and peaceful Normandy with its picturesque fishing harbors and lovely resorts was also the stage of the operation Overlord.
At dawn of June 6, 1944, one of history’s most decisive battles, led by General Eisenhower, began with the Allied invasion of German-held Normandy. Travel through Normandy to Caen by the motorway.

Stop for a commented visit, film and lunch (drinks included) at the Memorial-Peace Museum of Caen. The landing beaches: this part of the Norman coast, once defended by the Atlantic Wall, was heroically pierced by the Allies during the landing on June 6, 1944.

Also stop at Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach. Saint-Laurent- visit of about one hour to the American Cemetery, where 9,386 Americans rest, guarded by the Spirit of the American Youth, a 22 foot-high bronze figure.

Your last stop is at Arromanches, former artificial harbor during the Landing of Normandy, today a lovely summer resort. Stop on the motorway back to Paris. Arrival is around 9.15 pm at Paris.

The Cotswolds
Steeped in history and heritage, the area of England known as the Cotswolds is a charming blend of cottages with honey-coloured walls and thatched roofs, market towns with crooked half-timbered houses lining the High Street, and ancient stone crosses, all set in the gently rolling hills ('wolds') that are so typically English in character.

Stratford upon Avon
We then travel through the rolling Warwickshire hills to Stratford upon Avon, a market town at the edge of the Forest of Arden made famous for being the birthplace of the world-famous playwright William Shakespeare.

The first stop is at Aalsmeer´s world famous flower auction (closed on Saturdays in which case we will visit a traditional wooden shoe-maker instead). Then, before the city tour of Rotterdam, we will have a photo stop at the renowned Hotel New York.
At Delft you will visit to the official Royal Delft Blue Pottery factory with time for lunch at the historical centre (lunch not included in tour price).

Finally see the highlights of The Hague including the House of Parliament (where you can enjoy a short walk) and Peace Palace. Here in Holland´s governmental city you can visit Madurodam, the minature down of Madurodam where all of the Neatherlands is put together on a sacle of 1.25, or enjoy some free time at the famous North Sea beach resort of Scheveningen.

During this fantastic trip you will see the historical places of Prague from a coach, boat, and also by foot. It is the longest and most complete introduction to Prague offered by Gray Line Prague. It combines the most interesting and important places from the three of our tours (Grand City Tour of Prague, Royal Route Walking Tour and Lunch on the Boat on the Vltava River.)

By coach, you will see the National Theatre, a panoramic view of the Prague Castle, Rudolfinum and Old New Synagogue.

Near the Charles Bridge you will start your cruise along the Vltava river. You will have the possibility to admire the marvelous panoramic view of the Prague Castle which has been the residence of Czech rulers since the 9th century, Charles Bridge (founded by Charles IV. in the 14th century,) the Cechuv Bridge and National Theatre. During the one hour cruise refreshments will be served.

The last part of the tour is by foot. Our guide will show you Prague Castle Area, Charles Bridge, Klementinum, Townhall (not available Nov 1-Mar 31) and the Old Town Square.

Ghosts of London
This evening we will show you the sinister and ghostly side of London. The house in Berkeley Square, where happenings took place, so terrifying that for most of the 19th century it was known as 'the most hountúed house in London'. Hear about the Theatre Royal Drury Lane where a distressed man in 18th century attire is regularly seen striding backstage. Shudder at the tale of the demon barber of Fleet Street, Sweeney Todd, and has accomplice Mrs Lovatt who was said to have baked pies from the flesh of his victims, selling them to unsuspecting customers.

Jack the Ripper
Into the notorious East End of London, where we tread in the footsteps of the infamous Jack The Ripper. We'll visit the sites where, in 1888, he hunted and gruesomely murdered five London prostitutes. We visit four of the murder sites and our Ripperologist will run through the list of suspects, a true Victorian whodunit.

This is a combination coach/walking tour and will finish at a traditional pub near Trafalgar Square.

In the morning begin with a bucolic visit to Claude Monet’s gardens at Giverny. You will discover a wide variety of flowers and plants similar to those growing there at the time when the painter lived with his family. The gardens became, in fact, a great source of inspiration particularly the Nympheas which the visitors can admire nowadays in his studio.

Lunch at the Moulin de Fourges restaurant, located 10 minutes away from Giverny on the border of the Epte river, surrounded by poplars.

The afternoon is dedicated to the guided visit of Versailles castle, the royal apartments, the Hall of Mirrors and the Queen’s apartments. Free time for a walk in the gardens "à la française" surrounding the park.

PLEASE NOTE:
During the summer months when the fountains are playing (Saturdays, Sundays, and French bank holidays) there will be an extra fee of 8 Euros (approx $10 US) to visit the gardens. Tickets for the gardens will be available at the Gray Line bus terminal before the departure of the tour.
Both the Versailles and Giverny portions of the tour are guided.

Furthermore, you will see how rough stones become sparkling jewels at a Diamond Exhibit. We continue by boat to enjoy a leisurely cruise through Amsterdams charming canals and the citys harbour. The tour ends in the "Jordaan" quarter to visit the attic where a young Jewish girl and her family hid during World War II.
The entrance fee to the Anne Frank House and the cruise boat are included in the price of this tour.

Westminster Abbey and Parliament Square.
The tour begins with a panoramic drive around Parliament Square to see Westminster Abbey, where many of our Kings, Queens, Statesmen, poets and writers are buried. See Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

London's West End, Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard
Enjoy a fascinating panoramic tour, seeing Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, London's Theatre District and Piccadilly Circus.
Then to Buckingham Palace to see the colourful ceremony of the Changing of the Guard. We will then have a chance to enjoy lunch at a traditional London Pub.

Windsor Castle
This afternoon we visit Windsor Castle, the largest and oldest occupied Castle in the world. Its proud, strong walls dominate the delightful town that has grown around the castle over the years. Generations of Kings and Queens have conducted their business here and enjoyed its grounds, and you get a real sense of British history breathing through the walls of Windsor Castle, first founded by William the Conqueror a day’s march from London. You’ll see the lavishly decorated State Apartments containing priceless furniture in glorious colours and St George’s Chapel, home to the 14th Century Order of the Royal Garter, our senior chivalric order.

Runnymede
Departing Windsor we make our way to the magnificent Runnymede, where King John met his barons in 1215 and agreed to seal the Magna Carta that was to have a profound influence on rights and freedoms, not only in England, but across much of the civilised world.

We will also see the memorial to John F Kennedy on an acre of land given to America by the people of Britain.


* Occasionally there may not be a Changing of the Guard, on these occasions we will visit Horseguards Parade.
** Viewing at Windsor Castle is restricted on Sundays. On rare occasions the State Apartments may be closed and we will visit Queen Mary's Dolls House and St Georges Chapel.
