If you’ve come to Inverness, we’re sure you want to visit the loch. Which is why our Red Route is just the ticket. It takes you almost to the shore of Loch Ness, where you’ll be able to decide how you want to explore the largest inland body of water in the British Isles. In fact, it’s monstrously big. It’s one of the most spectacularly beautiful too.
That’s not all there is to Inverness though. It’s a fascinating and history-packed city, so make sure you hop off at various stops to take it all in. Inverness Castle is unmissable, literally, as its perched on a cliff, looking out over the city and the river. The Inverness Botanic Gardens in Bught Lane are another great place to hop off. These delightful gardens are an oasis of calm and peace filled with plants from around the world.
Another great way to relax and enjoy the city, is to take a stroll along the Caledonian Canal, which bisects Scotland connecting the east and west coasts. In fact, Loch Ness itself is actually part of this partially man-made waterway. To finsh the day off, why not find somewhere for a lovely cup of tea and a scone?
