Your day begins departing London and arriving in timeless Oxford, the world-famous city of dreaming spires. Leaving Oxford behind, travel through the rolling limestone hills of the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty celebrated for its honey-coloured stone villages and tranquil rural charm. Your expert guide will bring to life the fascinating story of the region, from its medieval wool trade to the enduring traditions that still shape village life today.

Begin in the picturesque riverside town of Burford, where elegant stone cottages line the hill that slopes towards the River Windrush. Visit the historic churchyard, home to centuries-old Woolsack tombs, before pausing for a lunch in a traditional country pub. Prefer to explore independently? Enjoy free time to wander the town’s antique shops and cosy tearooms instead.

Continue to Bibury, often described as the most beautiful village in England, with its iconic row of weavers’ cottages at Arlington Row. Then, journey along the scenic Coln Valley, where smaller roads not accessible to large coaches lead you through hidden hamlets, ancient churches, and fields dotted with sheep.

The final stop is Stow-on-the-Wold, a bustling market town steeped in history and charm. Browse its independent shops, admire the handsome Georgian townhouses, and enjoy one last taste of Cotswolds life before we begin the return drive to London, passing through the delightful towns of Chipping Norton and Woodstock along the way
