What to Expect

Explore in 16 seat mini-coaches, always taking the scenic route, you have great views through large windows, and you’re free to sample the local tipple without worrying about driving. Our driver-guides are famous for their knowledge, facts, quirky stories, history, and fairy-tales. They truly take you beyond the guidebooks and into your adventure. You make your trip your own. We provide the timetable; and you can choose where you want to eat and which attractions you pay to see. So, if you want to skip a castle and read your book by a mountain view, you can.

A good night’s sleep is often needed for a good day of travel. So we’ve hand-picked three-star to four-star hotels in remote coastal villages, bustling towns, and mountain valleys. Your accommodation is included in the tour price.

Most people can comfortably enjoy our tours, but it’s worth bearing in mind that we often include optional short walks in scenic locations. Please also be aware that many of the old European towns are built on steep hills with cobbled lanes, and you may have to carry your own luggage at times.

We’ve arranged experiences for you on your tour. The ‘included activities’ are already booked and paid for as part of your trip, whereas you can purchase ‘optional activities’ while on your tour. You also have free time in many destinations to pick and choose which attractions you visit.

Pack comfortable shoes for walks up to beautiful views. Carry swimwear and a towel for swimming spots. Your holiday’s more fun when you protect yourself from the sun.

Itinerary
Masterpieces & Vistas: A Journey Through Tuscany

Day 1Rome - Orvieto - Siena - Florence

  • Become a true adventurer in the city of Orvieto
  • Soak in the beautiful city of Siena as you explore like a local

We leave the bustling madness that is Rome and head to Orvieto, a city known for its unfathomably beautiful duomo, the limestone rock its perched on, and the cave system that makes up its roots. It’s the perfect place to explore and feel like a true adventurer.

Now it’s time for something a little bit more fast-paced as we arrive in the city of Siena. Your free time here will be packed. Perhaps you’ll visit the Piazza del Campo? Or maybe the duomo has been on your bucket list for years. Whatever you decide, you’ll love this distinguished city.

Our day ends in Florence, your overnight stay for the trip. We have to say… Florence is our kind of destination.

Accommodation: Pitti Palace Al Ponte Vecchio or similar, Florence

Day 2Florence

  • Enjoy an included guided tour of Florence
  • Today is your free day in Florence, so the adventure is up to you

Just to prove how much we adore Florence; we’re giving you the whole day to explore. The morning starts with a guided walking tour of Florence, to help you get oriented for the day ahead. Then the rest is up to you.

Florence is a masterpiece, the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, filled with Renaissance art and architecture. Brimming with life and excitement. There’s far too much to choose from. So, what’s on your list?

Maybe you’ve always wanted to gorge yourself on a Florentine Steak. Stroll across Ponte Vecchio and get an iconic shot of it too. Stroll around the Piazza della Signoria with your camera… finding local markets for an afternoon treat. Climb to the top of Giotto’s Campanile for an orange-topped view of the city. And as the sun sets on your excellent day, you’ll pull into yet another restaurant for yet another fantastic Italian meal. (B)

Included Activities: Guided walking tour of Florence (2 hrs)

Accommodation: Pitti Palace Al Ponte Vecchio or similar, Florence

Day 3Florence - Pienza - Bagno Vignoni - Rome

  • Impressive, elegant, and historic… we know you’ll love Pienza
  • Indulge in a tour and tasting at Solaria Winery
  • Step back in time in the tiny hamlet of Bagno Vignoni

First up today is a real beauty. An architectural beauty, that is. Pienza is celebrated for its exquisite Renaissance architecture, its UNESCO World Heritage city centre, buildings both impressive and elegant will frame you as you explore. Not to mention the stunning Tuscan countryside views you’ll be treated to… while you munch on Pienza’s renowned Pecorino cheese. Just saying.

No trip to Tuscany is complete without a visit to a winery, so we stop in at Solaria Winery for a tour followed by a tasting. Need we say more? Bucket list point achieved.

As we make our way back to Rome, we’ll aim for a quick photo stop in at the tiny Italian hamlet of Bagno Vignoni. This photo-worthy Tuscan village is renowned for its unique and ancient thermal baths. It really is an idyllic end to your adventure. (B)

Included Activities: Solaria winery visit + wine tasting
