Itinerary

London to Oxford

You start the morning winding through the busy streets of London. The tall buildings eventually give way to green countryside, as you make your way through the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty towards the historic city of Oxford.

Free time and lunch in Oxford

You have the full morning to explore spire-studded Oxford. There is so much to discover, in this city famous for its Gothic architecture, and home to the oldest university in the UK. You have time to explore the precincts of the colleges, climb the vantage points to admire the skyline, or see the art and antiquities collections in the Ashmolean Museum, as well as grab some lunch.

The Cotswolds

Your journey continues deeper into the Cotswolds. Famous for charming villages nestled between the rolling hills, characterised by thatched cottages and traditional markets, today you’re here to take in some of the regions prettiest towns. First, you’ll visit Bibury, on the banks of the River Coln; this village is famous for the 17th-century stone cottages and winding lanes. You have time here to stroll to the famous and fairytale-like Arlington Row. Then, you travel to Burford, the ‘Gateway to the Cotswolds’. One of the historic market towns in the area, here you can stroll along the quaint streets and enjoy the local hospitality.

Cotswolds to London

Once you’ve had your fill of winding lanes and thatched cottages, it’s time to head back to London in the early evening.

Please note: Some tours may run in reverse. On Sundays all tours go in reverse due to Oxford colleges being closed in the morning.
