Itinerary

Edinburgh to Loch Lomond National Park

Say goodbye to Edinburgh as we make our way to one of Scotland’s most iconic viewpoints: The Forth Bridges Viewpoint. 1890. 1964. 2017. Those are the years these three bridges were opened and – despite their differences – they oddly complement each other.

Loch Lomond National Park and Loch Katrine

We continue north into Scotland’s first national park: Loch Lomond & The Trossachs, renowned for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. From standing stones and burial cairns to the echoes of the Jacobite Uprisings of the 18th century, this land encapsulates the Scottish spirit.

Free time and lunch at Loch Katrine and Glenturret Distillery

We journey along Loch Katrine, a favorite spot for Outlander fans and the inspiration for Sir Walter Scott’s poem “Lady of the Lake.” You’ll have time to eat and choose from several activities. You can hire a bike from Katrine Wheelz and cycle along the scenic banks, or board the Sir Walter Scott Steamship for a relaxing cruise on the waters. Alternatively, you can simply stroll along the loch and let your feet guide you. Next, we’ll visit Glenturret Distillery, Scotland’s oldest working distillery, dating back to 1763. You can join a tour of the facility and sample Glenturret’s whisky. What flavors do you notice? Toffee apple? Citrus? Ginger? Freshly cut oak? Caramel?

Glenturret Distillery to Edinburgh

With a head full of beautiful landscapes and possibly aromatic notes of whisky, you start your return journey to Edinburgh. You travel south among the towering trees of the Highland Perthshire before the landscape starts to change into the rolling hills and fertile farmlands of the Lowlands.
