A week in London … a day at Downton Independent Package: 6 nts London

Enjoy a 4 star independent week in London … Downton Abbey tour and stay.

Enjoy a 4-star week in one of the world’s greatest cities with a Hop-on/Hop-off sightseeing tour, a ride on the London Eye, a West end show and plenty of time for shopping or to visit the museums and galleries. Highlight of the week will be our “Downton” day on a small coach with a visit to Yew Tree Farm (a.k.a. Cogge’s Manor Farm) and a stop in Bampton Village, in Oxfordshire, where most of the outdoor scenes for Downton Abbey were filmed. Our pre-timed group admission to Highclere Castle, in either the afternoon or morning, will give us plenty of time to tour the castle rooms and gardens. (n.b. there is no “downstairs” here as those scenes are filmed in a studio in London).  The flexibility with independent travel with all of the perks of an organized tour – join our Downton Abbey tour and stay!

You will be on your own, with all the tools to maximize your London experience. PLUS a day at ‘Downton’ featuring Highclere Castle.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrive London

Private transfer to the 4 star, Copthorne Tara hotel (or similar) for a 6 night stay. Explore London with your London £50 Oyster Card. You also have vouchers for a west-end show theatre ticket, one restaurant gift card for  Café Rouge and Bella Italia, and a flight on the London Eye. (D)

Day 2, 3, 4Enjoy London

Enjoy London! We recommend taking the Hop-on/Hop-off Tour on your first full free day to get your barrings of the city. You also have a £50 pre-loaded London visitor Oyster card. (3 x B)

If you would like to add attractions passes or a day tour IN the city – Ask us!

Day 5Downton Abbey Day Tour

An early pick up from your hotel for your Downton Abbey day tour – Travel through the idyllic Cotswolds countryside to visit some of the show’s most beloved filming locations, and walk in the footsteps of the Crawley family. Conclude your journey with a visit to magnificent Highclere Castle, the real-life Downton Abbey, and explore the rooms and gardens made famous by the award-winning series. (B)
