Itinerary
Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath & Oxford

Day 1Stonehenge, Windsor Castle & Bath

We depart central London early in the morning. The city’s grand buildings fade into open green spaces as you travel towards the town of Windsor, your first stop of the day.

Visiting Windsor is a step into British history, with its stunning Windsor Castle*, the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, standing proudly as a residence of the British royal family. Here, you can decide to either discover the castle or explore the historic market town itself. Whether you’re exploring the castle’s grand State Apartments, or strolling through the town’s charming, cobbled lanes, you’ll get to experience the heart of England’s past and present.

We then journey to one of the greatest marvels of the Neolithic period, Stonehenge. This ancient site transports you to a mysterious world, with the visitor center offering fascinating insights into the creation of this enigmatic monument. Was it an ancient temple, an astronomical calendar, or perhaps the work of Merlin? After exploring, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local café, featuring pasties and fresh produce. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage city, your overnight location.

In the evening, Bath comes alive with charm and atmosphere. You have free time to decide what to do. You can enjoy a relaxing dinner in one of its many restaurants, perhaps along the scenic Pulteney Bridge or in the heart of the city. Or you can visit a traditional pub or stroll through the beautifully lit streets to immerse yourself in the city’s timeless beauty.

Your overnight accommodation will be in Bath.

*Please note that your optional visit to Windsor Castle cannot be guaranteed, as sometimes tickets sell out. Ask us about adding Entry to Windsor Castle to your tour.

Day 2The Cotswolds & Oxford

You get more time this morning to explore Bath in the light of day. Take in the city’s iconic Georgian architecture at your own pace, including the magnificent Royal Crescent with its sweeping, curved facade, and other grand landmarks that have graced the screens of period dramas and films. Alternatively, you can delve deeper into history by visiting the famous Roman Baths, where the echoes of the past come to life.

Once you have explored Bath to your heart’s content, it’s time to head into the Cotswolds. A region famous for traditional, thatched-roof cottages and serene gardens, your first stop of the day is the village of Castle Combe, widely recognised as one of the prettiest villages in the region. You’ll have time for some pictures and a short wander, before continuing through the rolling countryside towards Oxford.

The city of Oxford with its spire-studded skyline of the English-speaking world’s oldest University, is our last highlight. After you’ve had lunch, you have time to explore the precincts of the colleges, climb the vantage points to admire the skyline, or see the art and antiquities collections in the Ashmolean Museum. Spires rocket towards the sky as you wander elegant halls straight out of Harry Potter.

After two days of exploring England’s iconic landscapes and finding out more about world wonders, Romans, and royals, you return to London, where the vibrant energy of the capital awaits. (B)

*Please note that your optional visit to the Roman Baths cannot be guaranteed, as sometimes tickets sell out. Ask us about adding Entry to the Roman Baths to your tour.
